Governor clears the way for water agency appointment

A bill signed into law by Gov. Jerry Brown July 9 closed a chapter on Ojai's community control over its water system.
Assembly Bill 1794, authored by Assemblywoman Monique Limón (D-Santa Barbara), removes references to Golden State Water Company (GSWC) on the Ojai Basin Groundwater Management Agency (OBGMA) Board of Directors and replaces that position with a resident of the Ojai Community Facilities District chosen by the Board.
