County budget contains mostly good news for valley

A $2.25 billion budget, adopted by the Ventura County Board of Supervisors, should keep county services in the Ojai Valley generally maintained or expanded over the next fiscal year.
Supervisors passed the final budget June 18 following two hearings for public comments on the spending plan.
The budget has increases in police and fire protection, health and human services, programs for the homeless and animal services.
As County Executive Officer Mike Powers explained, many county services are used throughout the Ojai Valley.
