City equipment goes green: Battery power will let crews cut emissions at the same time they are cutting the grass

The city of Ojai unveiled new battery-electric-powered gardening and landscape equipment for its Public Works Department at Libbey Park Aug. 2, becoming the first city in Ventura County to make the switch from gasoline equipment.
A grant from the Ventura County Air Pollution Control District (APCD), helped fund this pilot project that will be tracked by the American Green Zone Alliance (AGZA).
