First post-Thomas Fire building permits close

More than eight months after the decimating Thomas Fire raged through Ventura County, a few Ojai Valley residents are about to receive permits to rebuild their lost homes.
After a lengthy two-step planning and permit process, the county's permit management office is reviewing plan checks and issuing rebuilding permits.
The “Group A” clearances required before submitting a building permit application include developing building plans that must go through an environmental health check, a zoning clearance, a public works inspection and fire department sprinkler check.
