A man allegedly armed with a knife last week in Meiners Oaks, has been charged with attempted murder after chasing another man through a local business and into a nearby parking lot.
The incident happened shortly before 7 p.m. Aug. 22 at the intersection of East El Roblar Drive and South Lomita Avenue, authorities said.
According to the Ventura County Sheriff's Office (VCSO), 32-year-old Jacob Hooper, described as homeless, threatened to kill a man he'd been talking to on the sidewalk in front of a business.
Hooper pulled out a knife and took a swipe at the man, who avoided the attack and ran into a nearby business, sheriff's officials said.
