VCSD Reports Decrease In Thefts

Law enforcement personnel have a tough job. But, a report last month by Chris Dunn, Ojai's chief of police, indicates that the Ventura County Sheriff's Department's efforts seem to be paying off as statistics show a low crime rate in the Ojai Valley, particularly within the city limits.Although the report for crime within the city limits shows that the number of reported violent crimes increased by 12 percent from 17 in 2009 to 19 in 2010, the number of reported crimes against property decreased by 18 percent showing 35 fewer thefts and
