Ojai One Step Closer To Plastic Bag Ban

On Tuesday night, Ojai City Council approved a second reading of the proposed ordinance that would ban retailers within city limits from providing single-use plastic bags. If passed, the ordinance would prohibit the distribution of the bags as of July 1, with the end goal of reducing the valley's contribution of plastic trash, not only to landfills and litter, but also via the Ventura River,to the ocean.
