Meiners Oaks water users get temporary reprieve from drought restrictions

The Meiners Oaks Water District board has decided not to move forward with Stage 2 emergency restrictions, which would have gone into effect Dec. 1.
However, with all of its wells either dry or very close to it, the District is now relying solely on water from Casitas Municipal Water District to provide service to its 4,200 customers. "Since we've lost all of our production capabilities, we're 100 percent on Casitas water, so we're still asking customers to conserve as much as they can," said Mike Hollebrands, MOWD district manager.
