Ojai City Council has pushed to its June 13 meeting a vote on whether to make an unconditional commitment that it will not violate the Brown Act going forward. That will be just one day before the state-mandated deadline of June 14 for the commitment to be issued to avoid potential legal action from the Ventura County District Attorney’s Office.

At its May 22 transparency workshop, the council voted 3-2 to delay making the commitment, with Mayor Pro Tem Suza Francina and Councilmember Leslie Rule voting no, each saying the commitment should be issued.
