Ten athletes from the Ojai Heatwaves swim team traveled to Clovis for the 2022 Central California Swimming Junior Olympics, which was held July 20-24. The Heatwave swimmers successfully battled the hot weather and were able to achieve best times and finals placements, despite scorching temperatures of 106 degrees plus.

“We had swimmers qualify for the A final (top 8 swimmers in each age group), as well as the B final (top 16 swimmers in each age group) and even came away with one first place finisher. We were able to compete in the girls and boys relay events which further helped to score points for our team,” said coach Brandon Seider.
